Drop Services or Drop
Catchers attempt to get a certain name for you the
second it expires. Some are supposedly better than
others, but it is still not an exact science.
ExpireFish
- One of the cheapest drop catchers out there at
$20.00 per name. Like SnapNames, you are able to choose
other domain names if the name is not you wanted in not
caught. A monthly membership is also available for only
$10 per month.
Snap
Names
- With SnapNames, you pay $69 up front whether they get
the domain you want or not. Once you buy a "SnapBack"
on a certain name, nobody else can. If you don't get the
domain name you want, you can choose another to try to
"Snap" up. This is reportedly the best drop
service, but it does get beat fairly often.
Name
Winner - Although its interface can be a
little clunky at times, Name Winner offers a
refreshingly different approach than SnapNames. Instead
of paying up front, you bid on a name like eBay and you
pay only if Name Winner gets the domain name for you.
That way, you can attempt to grab a domain and you are
not out any money if you don't get it.
Drop
Wizard - Like Name Winner, you pay only
for success. However, the fee is $120. In addition, you
are the only one that can get that domain name with
DropWizard.
